Snake plant and damaged ends

I have had this plant several years but the tips seem to get damaged. Is it something I am doing wrong? Is there something I can do to make the tips look better? Thanks in advance for any tips!

That corked appearance is the normal look of a damaged leaf. It's like a scab and how they repair themselves. So no you can't change it, you will have to make peace with it.

I bet you are the only one who even sees it. We tend to be perfectionists with our plants and can sometimes forget they are living and breathing. Constantly changing as they grow. Imperfections are a part of plants. Accepting the imperfections is the hard part. She's beautiful. Think of it like scars on us, they tell a story of what she's been through and endured. She's endured and grown despite being bumped around. 🩷
@Succulantlover Hi Heidi, that's weird writing my own name. Oddly enough Snake plant leaves will not continue to grow taller if the tip is broken off. The plant itself will continue to produce new leaves and pups but the damaged leaf will remain stunted. You could trim the leaves tips to look like the others with some sterilized scissors if you wanted to. What I did with mine was I took the leaves that the tips were broken and cut them off as close to the base as I could and my plant immediately started giving me new pups! I then took the leaves I cut off and propagated them to make a new plant. It takes forever but you'll eventually get pups from a leaf. That's an awesome looking plant by the way!☺️🫢
@SuperbRaspfern thank you so much for your reply, I appreciate and feel better about it. I’m glad its nothing I am doing wrong
@princesspitstop Thank you for the information and instructions, I never thought to propagate it.
@Succulantlover propagating them takes patience. It's similar to propping succulents where the leaf sacrifices itself to make a whole new plant. You put them in soil and wait and wait ⏰ only watering when roots are present. Oh and some of the props take and some don't so make sure you start with a few of them so your chances go up. πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘
