The picture on the left is when I first got it and the one in the Terracotta pot is today.
@MimiGreenthumb in general, agaves need at least 6 hours minimum per day, to survive, if not 8-12 hours. Just think of where they come from natively, ☺️ southern United States, Mexico and Central America, where there is ample sun, and typically very dry conditions ☀️🌵🏜️
Okay, I am really new at gardening but am so amazed at how a plant that a year ago I would have thrown away can be rejuvenated with some TLC! I’m learning and when I first got this unusual plant I wasn’t sure how to care for it. I knew it was looking unhappy but it is super hard to tell with this Agave! Unfortunately, I let it get extremely damaged roots. When I dug it up, it had no roots that were not dry and crumbly. I figured I would at least try to rehydrate her so I used clean scissors and cut and scraped until I found something that appeared white and fresh. Then I submerged the base of the plant in water and said some words of motivation!! After only three days, I see signs of life again, look at the roots starting to come back and the leaves are changing to a darker hue. Fingers crossed we can come back from this and I will do better in the future! #Agave #HappyPlants
Hi Missy, remember if you put it near window, put your arm next to the plant facing the window. If the light is too hot on your arm, it is too hot on the plant. Good luck and best wishes.
@Malagueña thanks, great tip!
