Does it grow better when pot bound?

@SilkenLipandra Hi Kathi! 👋 I wouldn't say they do. But they will be ok if they're tight in the pot until you see roots coming out of the bottom or Sometimes the pot won't even drain because of the roots blocking the drainage holes! Purple Heart likes to run and they fill in as ground cover rather quickly. If you put it in a larger pot it's going to fill it out fast! Also your plant tag says that it's in a pot without drainage holes if that's correct it needs to be replanted into a pot with some so the water can drain freely.
I think it depends on where you live and where you plant them. I’ve never had success growing them in the ground but the ones I have in big pots are thriving.
