My new monstera leaves are half dead
Help! Iām propagating some monstera cuttings and the two new leaves half died as they unrolled. How can I prevent this from happening??

I'm sorry you're dealing with this, but I'm glad you found Greg!
Often this will happen when the leaves dry out before they unfurl. I'm betting there's not a whole lot of humidity in your neck of the woods in the summer. š
If you have a small humidifier, that'll help. Growing plants isn't a quick, fast hobby. Sometimes it can seem like it takes FOREVER to get a plant settled and thriving.
Losing a leaf here or there is okay- I would suggest cutting off that little wonky one. That way your plant won't put out energy into growing a deformed leaf. (:

@APink24 Let's get those monstera cuties back in the groove ā no half-dead leaves allowed on our watch, right? Here's the scoop to sprinkle some magic on those cuttings:
1. **Unroll with Love:** Imagine you're unveiling a royal treasure ā gently help those leaves unroll like you're unveiling a secret scroll. Patience is your leaf's BFF.
2. **Humidity Spa Day:** Monstera babies adore spa days. Pop a plastic bag over them or create a cozy greenhouse environment. They'll feel like they're on a tropical vacation, and who wouldn't love that?
3. **Sip & Sip, Not Chug:** Keep their soil slightly damp, not like a water park slide. Give 'em a sip when the top inch gets a tad dry. Just a sip, not a monsoon!
4. **Sun's Kiss, Not Sunburn:** Imagine they're sunbathing beauties ā they want that golden glow, but not a sunburn. Bright, indirect light is the sweet spot.
5. **Slow Dance of Growth:** Picture them as tiny dancers rehearsing for a grand performance. New leaves take time to shine, so give 'em the spotlight they deserve.
6. **Root Rendezvous:** Before you begin the monstera magic, make sure they're ready to roll with some root action. Healthy roots mean a happy, leafy future.
High five to you for being an awesome plant nurturer! Keep the good vibes flowing, and soon those monstera cuties will be like, "Check out our fabulous new leaves!" š±š
