Lithops Care
I'm new to #Lithops and have a few questions about my new plant.
1. From the little research I've done, I get the impression that the plant in the bottom right corner (first image) is at a different growing stage from the others. If I'm correct, would it be better to pot this on it's own?
2. Does this plant need repotting or does it like being crowded like this?
3. Is the wrinkling at the top of the tall one an indication that it needs to be watered?
4. Is this the right season to water?
5. Can someone give me a basic rundown of it's seasonal care requirements? There's so much information online, it's making my head spin.
I'm in the UK currently in an east facing window.
Thank you so much for your help. #lithopsarmy

2â pot with drainage
Last watered 1 year ago
Well they need lots and lots of sunlight. They live direct sun but youll have to acclimate them more than likely since most places dont let them have full sun. Their roots grow downwards long so no shallow pots. Best to plant separately so they dont fight for space (from what ive heard). When you give them a gentle squeeze and they are firm then do not water. If you give a gentle squeeze and there is a little give, almost like its deflating, then give it a good drowning and then leave be until it deflates. Sometimes you can tell they need water bc they sorta rise up out of the dirt a little more (they like to be kinda buried). Do not water whatsoever when it is splitting (from what i understand). They like really fast draining sandy/gritty type of soil. Nothing that holds water basically bc they get root rot really quick and easy. If they become kinda see through then its more than likely been over watered. I know this isnt probably the clearest of info you would have preferred but this is based on how i treat mine, what ive learned through trial and error, and what i learned from others. Hope it helpsâĪïļ
I am new to them as well. These are the photos I added to my plant card to help me figure things out.
1. They are definitely at different stages, which could make things tricky. I'm not sure the best time to repot, but I'm pretty sure now isn't it.
2. I am zero help on this one. But it does look really tight, likely too tight.
3. Wrinkling when splitting usually means the old leaves are dying as the new baby plant is using up its water, which is normal. But is yours flowering and not producing a pup?

@KrunchyWrapz Thank you, that's a big help.
@PlantMompy Thanks for your responses, the photos are a great help. Mine are flowering, I don't think.
@PlantMompy good advice!
@Lumi thank you. I just bought one. Was wondering how to take care of it. Thank you very much!
