What do you do if your plant has root rot? Is there a way...

As long as there’s green on your plant, it can be saved! Take it out of the pot, rinse all the dirt off the roots. Use a sanitized pair of shears/scissors (dipping them in diluted hydrogen peroxide or rubbing alcohol is fine) to cut off any part of the roots that are mushy, smelly or otherwise unhealthy looking. Repot in a chunky soil mix, (also, depending on the plant, they could benefit from being in a porous pot type such as clay or terracotta) and water. Really really take it easy with how often you water from this point.

If all else fails, take a healthy stem/cutting from your plant and make a propagation!
Was battling with root rot on a plant of mine a couple months ago. Repotting it and trimming off some of the excessively damaged roots in the process gave it a fresh start! Best thing to keep in mind to prevent root rot is to ensure your pots have drainage holes at the bottom to shed any excess water clogging things up!
