Bell Pepper
My bell pepper plant seems to look sad. I planted it from seed and it is growing, but always looks just sad lol. It says it needs full sun, it has afternoon sun from the west. Iβm wondering if the sun is too intense for it? It has been in the 90s to 109 degrees here. Low humidity, about 35-40%. Any advice? Thanks!

Hi Nichole! So, pepper plants need 6-8 hours FULL sun per day. The afternoon sun in Kansas is way too intense. An East facing spot outside would be perfect. It can get early morning to just after noon to get sun that wonβt scorch the leaves, and the soil will get the heat it needs for good strong roots. I canβt see your soil too well but it looks dense, which suffocates the roots. A loose, gritty soil- I use 50% Espoma Land and Sea Compost, 50% Perlite and I always add Worm Castings for great nutrients. Or, you can get Miracle Grow Organic Potting mix and do 50/50 with Perlite. When you water, make sure to water until it flows out the bottom of the pot- donβt let it sit in water .i hope this helps!
@SillyPlantGirl thank you so much for the advice! Iβll definitely move it to the east and change the soil. This was really helpful good information, thanks again π
