Why are the leaves of my plant curling?
8ft to light, indirect
7β pot with drainage
Last watered 1 day ago
@ShowySucculents those look like new leaves
I agree with @LaBori276 , looks like the new leaves unfurling π
Do you mean like the one underneath the new one? If so, it looks like its been over watered. Maybe try reporting it in fresh soil and check the rots. And repot any that need new soil! Then water less often. Like only hope your #NeverNeverCtenanthe does better!!! π¦ππͺ΄β¦
@ShowySucculents yes, current photos showing the curling would definitely help! Do the curling leaves have any brown on the edges? Are the concentrated at the bottom of the plant, or spread out?
These plants leaves curl up just like a prayer plant (they are in the same family! Marantaceae) . A process called βnyctinastyβ. They do this during certain times of the day depending on the light availability (nighttime). It could also be new growth emerging, or itβs thirsty or it needs more humidity. If those needs are met, then you just have a plant doing what it likes to do!
@ZestyWhiteghost thank you. When it started curling I thought it is thirsty and kept watering it more often. Stupid me, I will kill it instead of saving it. π
@Lindsay23 thank you. They are lifting and spreading evere evening and morning, but the curling I mean is when they fold in like a tube.. And have dry edges. I should have taken new photo before I posted the question. Sorry for the misleading initial information. π
@stephonicle the photo is old, from when I bought the plant. Now the leaves are curling as a tube and yes, they have dry edges. Thank you for taking time to respond.
@ShowySucculents no worries! That makes sense. Even with a photo, itβs sometimes hard to pinpoint someoneβs issue since everyoneβs home can be so different πβΊοΈ.
