Is this leaf doomed?
I got this plant about a month ago and have been struggling to care for it. It developed a few black spots on the edges of two leaves, so I removed it from the terrarium I had it in and treated it with a neem-based houseplant spray.
The black spots haven't increased, thankfully. But this one leaf has been yellowing over the past few weeks ๐ญ see first photo (other photo for comparison with the rest of the plant). I know plants get stressed from traveling and can take time to adjust (I bought it online). Is there any chance it'll get better or should I just cut it off?
Have been watering with distilled water and misting the moss on top when it gets dry. Potted in a soil that's supposed to be good for ferns (see pic in comments) plus I added a touch more perlite to help with aeration.
TIA #gregfam!

@ballondusoleil I know ferns can be pretty picky about the humidityโฆnot just misting. Ask me how I knowโฆ.my Birds Nest Fern has most of the ends cut off because it is either too wet or too dry or not enough humidity. I love ferns but they can be finicky. #fussyferns
@ballondusoleil One of the things I love about Greg is I learn about so many plants Iโve not heard of before! ๐ This Blue Oil fern is lovely. Iโm definitely going to keep an eye out for it. However from what I read it is not an easy plant and is very slow growing. This great link will give you a lot of info on its care. The first thing I noted is itโs an understory plant so perhaps your SW exposure is too intense for Blue Oil. https://herebutnot.com/blue-oil-fern-care-culture-microsorum-thailandicum-steerei/
@Stlplants I set up a humidity tray under a couple of my philos so I'll try that on my blue oil fern instead of the terrarium. It was sharing the terrarium with four other plants so maybe it was too much humidity ๐
@MariansOasis thanks, Marian! I found that care guide when I was looking up how to care for it. Wish it had more troubleshooting info but I guess prevention is key.
Despite my best intentions of course, it's had a rough start but the leaf fell off on its own today - the rest of the plant hasn't declined so here's hoping it continues in better health now!
So true about discovering new plants on here by seeing what others have! My wishlist just ends up getting longer ๐

@BorGiKat thanks, Christina! I appreciate your thoughts on this. I think it's just part of the risk with ordering plants online - sometimes they acclimate well and others have a harder time. Probably doesn't help that I'm somewhat of a beginner as a plant parent but I want some of the demanding plants, lol!
