Sun baked

#ButterflyBush, hey all! I welcome any advice.
I'm trying to grow my BB. Currently, the watering schedule is too infrequent with advice from Greg. The bush ends up sun baked, withered, and dying. It's outside getting full sun. I started doing a liter of water every two days just to keep it alive and slightly blooming. I'm feeling a little confused πŸ˜•
Here she is
A litre of water every two days sounds like an awful lot. Is the top inch or so of soil completely dry when you go to water it? Because if not then the overwatering could lead to root rot, which may explain why the extra water doesn’t seem to be helping; root rot can prevent the plant from actually absorbing the water, and so all the excess water is not only feeding the rot, but also not going into your plant.

If you think root rot might be happening here, I would unpot the BB and have a look at the roots. If they’re brown/black and mushy, then you’ve got root rot. Cut all of those rotting roots off and (if you can) spray what’s left with some peroxide to kill off any remaining fungus. Also, I’d repot with some fresh soil to reduce the chance of reintroducing the fungal spores to the plant
No, do not try and cure it with overwatering! It will cause other problems!

Use the app as a reminder. To check if the plant needs watering, use the finger test: if the first inch or so of soil is moist, do not water. If it’s dry, water.

But Butterfly Bush does need full sun to thrive, believe it. Do not move it to a shaded area.
Be sure this plant is not listed as a house plant, if you are keeping it outside. The care instructions could different.
Also, they like ground planting and a lot of sunshine.
