I learned even eating a tiny flower can be lethal and I have a new friend that tries everything
Mother of Millions (Kalanchoe delagoensis), also known as "Chandelier Plant" or "Devil's Backbone," can be quite a persistent plant to manage due to its unique propagation method. This plant produces tiny plantlets along the edges of its leaves, which easily fall off and root wherever they land, making it invasive and difficult to remove once established. To safely get rid of it, you should start by carefully pulling out the main plant, ensuring that you remove as much of the root system as possible. Be cautious with the plantlets, as even a small piece left behind can sprout a new plant. Dispose of the plant parts in a sealed bag to prevent any plantlets from spreading. Additionally, it’s worth noting that Mother of Millions is toxic to pets and humans if ingested, so take extra care if you have animals or children around. Regularly monitor the area where it was growing for any new sprouts, and promptly remove them to prevent regrowth. Using mulch in the area afterward can also help suppress any remaining seeds or plantlets from taking hold.
To me the best plan of action is to carefully wrap a large sheet of shrink wrap or aluminium foil around the base, then pull it up and close it at the top to prevent any plantlets falling off. Since it's in a pot you can either give it away or bring it to a second hand store that sells plants or something like that
There’s always a trash can or a corner lol. Maybe a homeless person needs a friend πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
