My guy isnโ€™t doing too hot. Main stalk has yellowed. Curl...

Spongy is a sign of overwatering. Try to airate the soil by sticking chop sticks down into the soil multiple times. Or repot with fresh soil and check the roots for rot. Wash the roots of and trim any rot with clean scissors. Good luck!
Your Licky Bamboo has signs of overwatering. @PlantNerds have good suggestions. Keeping our fingers crossed ๐Ÿคž.
Yes definitely overwatered. Interestingly enough though if you remove it from the soil completely and rinse the roots you can grow it in a fully hydroponic planter. Mine is in a glass vase with river stones and water and I give it some 1-1-1 fertilizer every now and then
Fair warning though. These things will grow tusks and get HUGE if you start to fertilize or move it to a larger pot

If the stalks are spongy I would take the new growth stems and propagate them. My bamboo is in water and gravel and had been for years. Once in a while I remove the gravel and clean it and the pot and check the roots, she's doing great. I've never grown bamboo in soil!

In my experience with lucky bamboo itโ€™s just easier to grow in water. That way I donโ€™t overwater or underwater.
