Not sure if my beloved Penfold is dying or if I can save ...

#Dieffenbachia
4” pot with drainage
Last watered 1 year ago
I’d check the roots to see if there is root rot / mushy brown roots. If so, I’d remove them and spray the rest of the roots with hydrogen peroxide

It might also be time for a bigger pot, terracotta isn’t recommended as it steals a lot of nutrients from the soil.

A more frequent watering schedule might be recommended too.

Greg app is great for reminders, however, your plant very well may need more frequent watering than Greg recommends!
@elisenavidad amazing thank you so much for your help, how often would you say I should water?
@Madge when the top 2” of soil is dried out!

Also try to avoid direct sun as it will burn the leaves!.
Dont panic!! Mine pulled a stunt like this not long back, first check the roots check for any mushy or juicy bits,
Remove the dead / dying leaves from the plant! Please dont panic about them not growing back as dieffenbachia grow back SO fast after a good trim, and drown him!! Their soil looks pretty dry
Your plant looks exactly like mine before I realized it doesn't like sunlight at all. The only lighting it can take is the blue light that happens when the has almost completely set or gone behind something
