What should I do?
This poor calathea hasn’t been the same since I discovered the mold on the bottom of the pot. On Sunday I cleaned the roots and repotted in a 50/50 perlite and miracle grow moisture control potting mix. bottom watered and sprayed leaves with alcohol/neem oil/dish soap/water mixture to deter pests. I’m just not sure what to do now. #CalatheaCrew #calatheadottie #PlantsMakePeopleHappy

@PlantSuccer the crimson rose calathea is doing okay but hasn’t grown very much. the dottie seems like a goner all of a sudden. he was doing very well up until i discovered and treated the mold and fungus gnats
Your plants have sure been through a lot! Anytime you repot a plant, it needs to have time to readjust an acclimate to its new home.
anytime you spray the leaves with alcohol or neem oil or any other kind of chemical, it does take a toll on the plant.
Perhaps you just need to leaf them alone for a little while (weeks). Soon, you should see the plant begin to perk up with the proper humidity. (:
I'm rooting for you!

I feel the plant-in-bucket hack have helped my struggeling calatheas. (Place them in a transparent bucket or plastic bag). As it ups the humidity and helps the leaves while the roots are recovering. But it also increases the risk of mold, so not quite sure what would be best😅
It def looks like it has had a reaction to the leaf spray/neem oil. The burned leaves.. It probably needs some time to recover as @sarahsalith says💚

That just seems like overkill. I’ve never bottom watered with alcohol or dish soap. This same thing happened to me with my pinstripe. I rinsed off the bottom of the nursery pot with hot water to get rid of the mold and did the same thing to the decorative pot. Then I rinsed both of them with hydrogen peroxide. I bought water the plant with a mixture of half water, half hydrogen peroxide. you’ve had a whole bunch of stuff to your plant. I would say that when it needs watering next, you should give it a good shower with distilled water to kind of flush out the dish soap or alcohol or both I didn’t even repot my moldy plants. They’ve been doing well
