Planting an orange tree- what would it need?

So I have some orange tree seeds and I want to plant it, but I need some help. I planted a lemon tree and it didn’t work out, I dont want the same thing to happen with the orange. If I plant it in a pot, what dirt should I use? How often should you water it? What kind of pot should you use? Any tips and advice would be appreciated. Thank you!
Citrus soil blend, good drainage. I’m curious as to what zone you are in? My Meyer lemon is confused with all the temp changes in zone 5 here. It’s in its 2nd bloom since I brought it in from my deck but fruit falls off after about the size of a peanut
My mandarin trees were some of the first plants I grew. I was a complete novice who knew nothing about plants. I planted one of the seeds in clay soil in a plastic cup, which still grew 😂, so I don't think the soil or pot matter. However, I live in Florida, so maybe your main problems are heat, humidity, and moisture. So I suggest after sowing the seed and watering it, put the pot in a clear plastic bag and leave it in full sun or use a heat mat with a grow light.

Or, if you want to observe the seed to ensure germination is going well, you could use the paper towel and zip-lock bag method if you are familiar with it.

Understand that growing from seed takes patience. Germination might not happen for a couple of weeks, but that's normal.
@ReallyKawakawa I’m in Miami and the temperature changes a bit…for example in winter, it’s usually around 50-40 degrees in the morning but it’s starts to get warmer around 70. In summer it’s hot and humid up to 80 or 90 degrees.
@Seedstarter Thanks so much! This helps me a lot since I’m not that familiar with citrus fruits. Thanks again!
Just wanted to note—seed grown oranges are only for fun, not for fruit. Commercially grown trees are grafted onto a rootstock, and can take YEARS to mature. Unless you buy a rootstock and do some grafting, your fruit ain't gonna be as nice
@Araceae that’s fine, as long as my tree grows and just gives fruit once in a while I’m happy with it, I just want it to grow. Thanks for this info!
