I have a philodendron goeldii with some roots coming from the top of the soil. Can I cut them or I should repot to cover them up? Or are they just old and dead stems?
These are aerial roots that help stabilize/anchor the plant and cling onto things when they’re looking to climb! You can cut them, stick them back in the soil or look into getting a support system (i.e moss pole, trellis) for your plant!😁🌿✨
These are totally normal! Leave ‘em! They’re aerial roots just like Dariana said. They help the plant to pull water and nutrients from its environment in addition to stabilizing it. It’s just a quirky part of vining plants from their evolution in the wild.
