Does lavender need full sun?

Welcome to Greg! ☺️Something I’ve found useful when considering conditions for my plants is to start (on a search engine) with searching “[plant’s scientific name] native habitat.” If this doesn’t turn up something specific, then I search again with “[plant’s scientific name] native ecosystem.” Then I search “[plant’s scientific name] growth habit.” Just something I’ve personally found useful, so I hope that’s helpful to you!
Lavender is native to the Mediterranean region and some areas beyond that. Its habitat is dry, rocky, and mountainous and thrives in full sun, very well draining soil, and good airflow, so I would say yes indeed, lavender needs full sun! ☀️ 🌿
