Every body will tell you terracotta but glazed clay works just as good as long as you have a good dirt mixture. People will say never in plastic bc it hold to much moisture but as long as you have a good dirt mix. I have some in plastic. My devil's backbone is in plastic. My monkey tail is in plastic. I have some in terracotta and one in a metal pot.
Something bad happened to that pick. The one in terracotta
@planthoe40 thank you sm! When I do upgrade should I use a cactus soil mix? I’m new to all of this so I’m not 100% sure
I always use terracotta to help suck up extra moisture. Also a succulent soil helps!
@ExpansiveSalsa3 yes definitely use a succulent mix and add in some extra perlite and bark.
@Succulent_Soul I'm not a big fan of terracotta. The only reason I buy terracotta is if I'm short on money bc they are so cheap. If I have the money to buy a glazed pot I'm buying the glazed. @ExpansiveSalsa3 i don't know if you have a Walmart where you stay but Walmart has a lot of their p I ts on sale.
@planthoe40 I’m trying to get more low maintenance plants any recommendations?
@ExpansiveSalsa3 lucky bamboo. It only needs a little bit of light and it sits in water
@Succulent_Soul thanks sm!
@ExpansiveSalsa3 any succulent really. And hoyas. Matilda in the middle really low maintenance
@planthoe40 thank you!
@ExpansiveSalsa3 Hi Alaina a succulent soil is the best . I make mine regular soil mix with lots of perlite and charcoal or leca mix or you can buy a small bag of succulent soil premix on Amazon fairly cheap . Though I’ve found I still need some perlite or lava with the premix too. Most important thing is well fast draining soil and letting it get totally dry before watering again. They are very drought tolerant. The . If you have terracotta pot that would be best just be sure it’s not too big for plant. This way you can avoid overwatering.
