@PreciseCorkelm no, I don’t think so. A FIddle leaf fig will not typically regrow new lower leaves if it drops its bottom leaves. The new growth on a fiddle leaf fig occurs at the top of the plant, so once a lower leaf falls off, it's usually gone for good. Your plant is huge and tall compared to mine but it still looks healthy so I wouldn’t worry too much. However, I would consider repotting it in a deeper pot. I have mine in a 6 inch pot and if your plant is in a 5.5 inch pot, that is too small and could be strangling the roots which in turn is allowing the lower leaves to drop to make room for the new growth up top.
Usually the plant wouldn’t focus on that. More growing up with the stem. Or the sides. If anything they might grow small
