Imperial green philo unfurling multiples?
Is my imperial green philodendron having triplets?? I thought it was one leaf that was coming and about to unfurl, but I checked tonight; one has indeed popped out but it looks like there are two more trying to come out too! Is this normal???
ZΓΆld is a rehab plant. Iβve only had him since early September. This wouldβve been the first leaf he popped out. #Philodendron #HappyPlants #LeafPorn #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PhiloFlock #NewGrowth

@RootWrangler WOW, he loves you π₯Ήπ₯°
Wow, he looks really happy.
I can even see a great improvement in this photo vs his profile pic. Kudos! π
Any tips on watering, type of soil, placement, etc?
I ask bc I had a Silver Sword Philodendron take a sudden turn for the worse a few months ago. I think I overwatered causing root rot. Within a week, all the leaves turned limp, yellowed and fell off. I stupidly just threw the plant out, now realizing shouldβve repotted.

@SouthernXtine3 this plant, ZΓΆld, is an imperial green philodendron. But I do have a silver sword philodendron, Sterling.
For Sterlingβs soil, I mixed Happy Frogs potting soil with a chunky aroid mix like Grow Queen or Sol Soils; a 2:1 ratio. I also threw in a handful of leca for extra aeration, drainage, and to weigh the pot down a bit.
I used butcher twine to tie damp spagnum moss to a coco coir pole where Sterling was pressed against it, and then I used soft-sided Velcro ties to tie him to the coco coir pole.
I lightly mist every 5-7 days but I donβt water again until the first 2 inches are dry. Then I water until it drains out the bottom.
Heβs under a grow light now for the winter but heβs also in a room with north and west facing windows.
