SOS: My plant is sad! Droopy leaves but I know it’s not u...

4ft to light, indirect
4” pot with drainage
Last watered 2 years ago
My first guess is the weather since it's winter for those of us in the northern hemisphere. Warmer/drier indoor temperatures could be affecting your plant. Maybe try increasing humidity?

Edit: it might also not like the grow light because it's in dormancy? I recently reached out to a plant store about a plant I got from them & they said my plant needs less light. Get in touch with the seller if you can. πŸ’š

P.S. Even though it's not at its best right now, it looks like a really neat plant - nice find!
Thank you!! I love him! Just hope he feels better soon😞 #worriedplantparent
Its just possible that the roots don't have enough air. I saw that u have reg potting mix as its soil. When infact they love chunky soil. I see its in a terracotta, which may seem why its not over watered cuz it drys out the soil quicker. So the soil mite be dry or moist but dense. Try using a Chopstick or a pencil pen... In poke holes all through out your soil. Deep as u can...(be mindful of the roots while poking) So that way it gives the roots some air. Also try using distilled or rainwater. Mineral deposits from tap also cause the soil to be dense.
@shopofhorrors it’s in the original soil it came in.. I have only had this plant for probably 4mo now. Should I just change his soil?! I tend use chunky soil mix I have created for most of my plants. I use filtered water for the babies
I would pull him out and check his roots, especially since he's never had a soil change. Usually, curled leaves mean dehydration. But my cutting was looking the same way, and it was in water. Temperature is important. My mother plant Tiamat is kept in my bathroom by an East-facing window. She seems happy. The cutting still seems a little sad, but I cut the tip of the stem in hopes maybe that will help draw water till the roots start to manifest. Sometimes, adding a little peroxide to the watering can help add aeration. Hope things improve. Good luck!
@wolfqueen yea I put him back in the bathroom too! He did amazing in there.. I do plan on looking at his root tomorrowβ€¦πŸ˜ I just have had him long so do not want him to freak out more!!!!😬😬😬
@PreciseOrchids, as long as you are gentle and do not disrupt his roots too badly, he should be fine. Checking is better than having the roots need attention and not being seen to. He'll appreciate it, believe me. 😊
@PreciseOrchids honestly its your call...but if it were me id do an emergency repot with chunky soil. Cuz it possible it cant breathe. But if u want to wait on repotting u can use the chop stick method vy poking holes
@shopofhorrors I feel u! I did redo it! The roots looked good! Thank god!
