Raggedy Dust Mites
Ughhhh they got my bamboo! What should I do!!? Toss it? Cut the leaves?
Last watered 2 days ago
If itβs lucky bamboo βnot real bambooβ toss it. Just personal opinion lol. But serious answer to spider mites,
Trim off the badly infested areas, get a small spray bottle filled with half full with warm water & small squirt of cheap dish soap. Shake & spray from underneath & then the top. Will kill them within minutes, can add garlic powder if you like it works as a repellent. Just sprayed some cannabis recently. People say you have to spray again in 3 days when the eggs hatch but Iβve never had too. Good practice to wash plants βheavy rains etcβ or hose them off if a heavy Infestation.
I read this in a study and didnβt believe it until I used it and tried it myself and it absolutely impressed me and saved a $2000 plant of mine and itβs my go to Now.
Mites hate moisture & airflow for future reference οΏΌ

@OhGollyItsJolly ommmggg . How do you know itβs real? I got it from the grocery store lol
@Plantlo Iβm guessing from the picture itβs the lucky bamboo, but hereβs a pic of my black bamboo. Started as a small shoot from a friend needs uppotting now but it started growing shoots like crazy so Iβm let it do its thing & transplant b4 winter. Iβm growing bamboo in containers to stop it from runnin an acre π₯΄
@OhGollyItsJolly omggg wow! yeah mine is just a lucky bamboo . Iβll clean it in water and soap etc . Hopefully and Iβll put it next to the diffuser.
Lastly do I put garlic powder in the water or on the plant itβs self after cleaning it

@Plantlo in the liquid in the spray bottle, probably should strain it to be safe it donβt clog up the sprayer. From what I understand about the process, the soapy water makes insects dry out on contact after a few minutes and garlic eats at their EXO skeleton biologically, and also works as a repellent. I used this method on my Moro blood Orange earlier in the year to fight off scale and I want to say it almost did nothing until I brushed all the scale bugs off, then sprayed again and now my citrus tree along with all the others are doing great. Now I have not seen a single bug on any of the citrus since except for a few good bees π ππ«Άπ½ I want to say all organic with a hint of just washed it off you know not enough cheap dish liquid to hurt anything even if itβs not organic.
