Why does my Christmas Cactus look so limp?

#thanksgivingcactus
5ft to light, indirect
5” pot with drainage
Last watered 1 year ago
@ProMoonorchid Hi Sara, potentially it is an issue with the watering together with the light. Your plant may not be getting enough light where it is (you can check with a light meter app on your phone) and l the plant may be under watered (which it looks it might be due to the leaves dropping) or even overwatering. The best way to check is to do the finger tip test, see photo. It looks like your pot has no drainage so this is not ideal in most cases as plants can be left with too much water on their roots for too long. Hope this helps answer your question. All the best or feel free to ask more questions. πŸ˜„
In my experience dealing with my momβ€˜s limp Christmas cactus. I think it needs more water. It also could’ve been inconsistently, watered in the past. The finger test is a great place to start!!οΏΌ
Hi You also take a wooden skewer and stick it in the soil once you massage through the soil make sure your soil isn’t to wet or dry after you firmly pack the pot water the skewer will help with you checking moisture in the soil
