Unless you lost a lot of roots, they probably put in too big of a pot based on root size so water pooled and you got root rot.

Fix:
Take clean scissors of wipe with alcohol and cut a little above the rot on the stem.

Let the cut callous over for a few hours.

Take a plastic cup and make some holes in the bottom, fill 1/3 with perlite, add cutting, fill rest of cup with perlite. Water and let water run through, draining. Place in a bright spot and water weekly.

You'll see roots after a while. Wait until your roots are about 3" long and then you can pot again.
@AwesomePlants omg! Amazing advice. Quick question is the current root system dead? Like no chance for new root growth?
@DailyDose_OfLee See how that stem is black? And the roots are mushy? That's root rot. You'll need to cut above the dead part to salvage otherwise the rot will continue to spread.
