Why are the leaves not plump?
hey guys iβve had this plant for a bit now, but iβve had to transport it back and forth from college a lot more than i wanted to because i didnβt want to leave it for 2 months without care during the hurricane. i am not sure if itβs a mix of both not getting enough sun or water but what can i do to help it?
2β pot with drainage
Last watered 1 week ago
@lailacampbell Welcome to the Greg community. I believe you are correct that your Jade plant was suffering from a combination of a) not getting enough water, and b) not enough sunlight. Same thing occurred to my jade while I was on Vacation for three weeks, no water and I had turned off the light. It lost many leaves but is now on the road to recovery fingers crossed π€
^ Agreed. Itβs likely very under watered. The whole reason why theyβre supposed to look plumped is because they hold their water inside their leaves, so unplump means no water!
When you water it, give it a SOAK, like, set the pot in a small container of waterβ enough to where it for sure will go up the whole inside of the pot. Let it sit in the water for 20-30mins. Itβll be a nice little bath for your succulent! You want to make sure your plant has the chance to drink up the water and rehydrate itself, but this should still be an infrequent practice. Deep infrequent waterings, with good draining soil and pot make succulents happy!
