Just got a cyclamen as a gift. How often do you water?

Hi @KeyRamsons52 👋. Beautiful new cyclamen!! First you know this plant will go dormant in the summer. Just so you don’t freak out when it starts to get yellow leaves and die back 😬. It’s a cool weather plant so it will come back for you after the summer heat is gone. It likes to be no warmer than mid to upper 60’s degrees. Bright light but not direct sun. Right now it says she’s in a pot with no drainage. Is that right or is she in a nursery pot inside that pink sleeve? I’d take off the sleeve, it’s just going to hold water and moisture which can cause rot or mold issues. Because cyclamen have tubers it’s best to bottom water so the tubers don’t rot and the leaves stay dry. Keep her soil moist but not soggy, letting the top inch dry out before watering again. Hope that helps !

@MamaLinne cyclamen are the best!! I have some outside that I’ll admit I neglect 😝. They still come back every fall/winter in San Diego 🙌. Love the pink flowers 🩷
@MariansOasis my daughter’s room rarely gets above 65. I think we will leave it in there under a grow light!
