Make sure you know the botanical name of your plant so you can get the right information.
Mexican mint -- Plectranthus amboinicus -- is edible.
I would always get a second and third opinion when searching the interwebs. Not everything on the internet is true. π

Welcome to Greg Genny.
Yes Mexican mint or Cuban oregano is definitely edible. I have several plants. It's strong so use sparingly.
