What’s best for succulents, top or bottom watering?

depends on how deep the roots are. For succulents like string of pearls, it's best to top water. For succulents like cacti, bottom watering is best. What type of plant specifically are you asking about?
Bottom watering or top watering with a curved bottle.
I really try and bottom water all of mine when I can, I think it helps the roots drink up just the water it needs! My personal opinion ❀️
@SesameSeeds777 this one and a deltoid ice plant. Both have pretty shallow roots I believe. Maybe I should take them out of the pots and dry out the soil. I bottom watered them
yeah if it has shallow roots, you should top water it. Did the top get damp? Usually with bottom watering, you know it worked when the top feels damp. If the top was still dry, you should consider watering it again
you don't need to dry the soil out, but you should take them out of the pot (if you can) to see how deep their roots go.
also, I noticed you have dead leaves scattered across the top of the soil, that is an invitation for mold. You may want to clean that up a bit if possible
