New African Milk Tree
Just got this guy in today. Planted him in a big pot and slightly watered him. Anything else I need to do? Iβm learning how to properly care for him as my last one died:(
I live in NM, so Iβm trying to learn and see if heβll do better indoors or outdoors

@SizableBlue83 The
proper care for an African Milk Tree (Euphorbia trigona) involves providing bright sunlight, well-draining soil, and infrequent watering, as it is a drought-tolerant succulent rather than a true cactus. Use a succulent potting mix, keep it in temperatures between 60-90Β°F, and only water when the soil has completely dried to prevent root rot. Mine is indoors under grow lights and only gets watered after I make sure the soil is completely dried out.

@Ms.Persnickety thanks for the comment! I have well draining, cactus type of soil. I try to only water it when the soil is dry. Should I move it inside since the weather where I am still gets close to freezing at night? The days get warm (60s ish right now).
@SizableBlue83 It looks as if keeping the plant inside would be the best option due to the low nighttime Temps. And if you have adequate lights if should start growing!
@Ms.Persnickety thanks for the advice! ππ»
Hi Anna, I live in Texas and I kept mine inside until temps reached 60 degrees (day / night). Now weβre getting into 60-70βs at night so I keep mine out side, full sun and I water about every 10 days when the heat amps up here, but making sure soil is dry at least 1/2 way down first. (My house is way too dark for most of my plants- even with grow lights all over).
@Ms.Persnickety gorgeous plants!!
