My two heart to hearts

Hi, I have two hearts to heart plants are wilting and dying from the looks of it, and I don’t know why. I was told they could be outdoor plants and have more than 6 hours of sunlight. I live in a desert climate and they don’t get much shade other than in the morning and early afternoon, so do I need to get them some shade or something? They are bottle rockets so you know.

They are tropical so they may need at least some shade. Also they love humidity. I'm not sure if they do well in desert climates. What growing zone are you in?
