Yellow Leaves

Hi all,

How much/how often do you water this plant? I have it on my plant stand with indirect grow lights. It also gets indirect sunlight throughout the day. The Gregg app says 1/8 cup every 7 days but I don't think that's enough and thus why the leaves are yellowing.

Do you have any photos of the yellowing leaves? So many different things can cause yellow leaves, so photos would really help with diagnosing the issue. In the meantime, I can tell you this: think of Greg's watering reminders as suggestions more than anything. There are countless variables unique to your plant and its environment that the app can't possibly take into account. That's why you should always check the soil before watering to make sure it's sufficiently dried out. When it is, water slowly until it begins pouring out drainage holes, then let the soil dry out again, and so on. Aglaonemas don't like for their soil to completely dry out, but they also don't like sitting in soil that's constantly damp, which can lead to root rot. I let mine almost completely dry out between waterings. A moisture meter really helps here, since the soil can look dry on the surface but still be quite wet further down in the pot.

Btw, if you get a reminder to water but the soil still feels damp, hit the "snooze" button and it will remind you again in a few days. The more you use the app, the more accurate the watering recommendations will become.
