why is this cactus  orange towards the bottom

they could be stained because of the soil, or it could be rotting. i don’t think it’s rotting though, because only the white parts are brown, and white stains easily.

I agree, though it could also be from too much light exposure, which would cause it to turn an orange brown color near the bottom.
