Is this Prickley Pear healthy?

I'm curious about Eon.
He has some funny spots at the base, doesn't have all of his spikes, and grows in a weird shape. He does seem to have a sprouting bloom at the top though! Any suggestions on his care? #prickleypear #plantsmakepeoplehappy #catcus #jacksonisprickley

I love when they just grow weird like that but what it’s doing is reaching for light! I have mine outside in the summer and under grow lights in the winter. I think it looks fine. The brown spots look to be just scars.
