Hi! Philo expert I’ll tell you what’s wrong!

It’s root rot. Philodendron as a genus are pretty hardy when it comes to rot, but you should still,

Check the roots for any brown/mushy roots that have rotted. If there are some then snip then off we don’t want them. If there are none, then you will have to propagate the plant whole.

Here’s how to make sure For this NOT to happen again.

1 typically all plants don’t like pots without drainage of course we have succulents for that reason. Butttttt philodendron need drainage in their pots! Or else, tadaaaa! That will happen again. I suggest giving this plant a pot with drainage.

2 get a moisture meter! Philodendron hate scedules and Any one works but they really are perfect. The next best thing is, Chinese food! Okay I Always make that joke when I talk about watering. What you really need is some chopsticks.
If it comes out dirty, wait! If it clean, time for a water!

And the next best thing, YOU! Okay you can ALSO use your finger! It gets a little messy though, but it works! Same rules as the chopstick.

So that’s how to prevent rot on your philos!
