The hummingbirds are killing my blooms and I need to know...

#ScarletSage
Hi Lisa, can you show a photo of the damage? I have Sage as well as trumpet vines with tons of flowers and a lot of Hummingbirds on the blooms every day, and I’ve never seen a hummingbird damage any bloom. They don’t have the physical strength to damage a flower/bloom. They suckle the nectar and they also pollinate. There could be other things harming your blooms like beetles and moths, birds and small animals like squirrels (I have lots of squirrels get into my trumpet vine tree). It could also be environmental. A photo or 2 would be great tho.
@FabLettuce66 Hi Lisa, I agree πŸ’― with Catherine @SillyPlantGirl

Hummingbirds do not kill blooms, not only do they not have the strength, they do not have the will. Nectar is their sustenance. If you share a picture of the damage we can try to figure out what might possibly be causing it.
