Yes, you can absolutely plant Bright Eyes in the ground. They are hardy herbaceous perennials that will come back bigger and better every year, producing fragrant pink flowers with a dark pink eye from early summer through early fall. To get the best results when planting them directly in your garden beds:
Pick a spot that gets full sun to light shade (at least 6 hours of direct sunlight is best for blooming). They thrive in rich, compost-amended, and well-drained soil. Space the plants about 2 feet apart. Good air circulation is critical to prevent powdery mildew, which Phlox is susceptible to and keep the soil evenly moist, especially during hot, dry spells, but avoid overhead watering if possible.
