Light: Place in full sun to partial shade (at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily). Adequate light maintains its tight rosette shape and red leaf tips.
Water: Water deeply only when the soil is completely bone-dry. Follow the "soak and dry" method, and drastically cut back watering during winter dormancy. Avoid letting water settle in the center rosette.
Soil & Potting: Requires coarse, extremely gritty, well-draining soil (such as a cactus/succulent mix amended with perlite or pumice). Important: Ignore the app tag in the photo that says "No drainage"—the container must have drainage holes, as Sempervivum roots easily rot in standing water.
