Gnat Season!

Gnat season is returning and last year was so bad for me and my plants. Any tips on how to prevent a gnat infestation this time around? My tree has gotten too big to pick up/drag to the outdoor patio. #TexasGregGang #PestControl
What I usually do is avoid drenched soils, let them dry long enough between waterings and still comfortable to the plant, use pots with good and enough drainage, don't let the bottom plate keep the drained water for long, water in the morning time so it has time to dry as much as possible during the day, ventilate the room as often and as much as possible and keep organic matter in decomposition to a minimum.

There are also traps for them but if you need them, it's already too late. 😊
@JardimBel thank you!
I don’t know if it actually helped, but I put rocks on my succulents’ soil
I just started using this for my plants, but there is liquid concentrate you can mix in with your water that is supposed to prevent gnats from infesting your soils. I mixed it in when I fertilized my plants as well.
@Icarussss what is it called
CPs. Hands down the best longtime solution I've found. Doesn't necessarily get rid of them completely but keeps them well enough in check that you don't notice them. Pinguiculas and drosera are easy to care for and ravenous for those beasties
@Boredhoney this is the concentrate. I bought it from Target.
