Looks like thereβs still a lot of dead/infected tissue attached. For rerooting to work, you'll need to cut back until you find firm, healthy tissue that isn't brown or discolored. Any remaining rot can continue spreading, even after letting it callous over. Be sure to use a sharp, sterilized knife to make the cuts.
