Losing leaves
#Philodendron
My plant is losing leaves. What could cause that? I think I might be over watering her. She had been very leafy!

@UprightMira Hi Emily- over watering is a sure way to make it drop leaves. My philodendron likes for me to allow it to almost dry out before I water it again. Also, how much light does it get there? I read something from a master gardener that said put your face level with the pot and if you canβt see the sky from where the pot it sitting, it needs to either have a plant light or to to be moved somewhere so that it can see the sky. Trust me, I love to have my plants on my shelves, but they never received enough light on the shelves. Itβs just food for thought, maybe you need to get them a grow light or something? I wish you the best of luck! The #1 reason house plants die is from overwatering, they can go longer than you think without it. I use either a skewer, and stick it down into the soil, if it come back with wet soil on it, itβs too soon. Or a moisture meter can be very helpful as well! Good Luck! πͺ΄πΏπΈ
I agree with @Ponytailmom. It looks like the damage is from a combination of overwatering and not having sufficient light. Heart shaped philos get leggy without proper light. I think your plant would do better hanging right in the center of that window. Right now the wall is blocking the light. I have mine on a trellis with a grow light becuase mine is also against a wall and gets barely any natural light. You could also consider cutting back some of the longer leggy strands and propagating them. Iβve done that as well and have a baby plant now too!
Thanks @Shells_Garden and @Shells_Garden! I put a grow light in her and will commit to under water! I think she might need a bigger pot too.
