Terracotta pots are best for Kenyan violets and you want a pot with drainage so for sure you need the saucer. I don’t have any Kenyan violets right now but I have two flaming violets potted in terracotta using an aroid soil that I amended, peat moss, perlite and worm castings. The important thing is not to water the leaves of the violets as it rots them out. They also like to dry out completely. I bottom water every 8-10 days. Bottom watering prevents overwatering as well. I just fill a deep bowl or saucer with a few inches of water and set the plant pot inside that. It will suck up as much water as it needs and it’s healthier for these particular plants.
@Shells_Garden thank you so much!! is there any other plants that you recommend that are beginner friendly πŸ₯Ή
@AlwaysOgreears4 your welcome and yes there are several beginner friendly plants. A spider plant is a good one. It’s pretty easy and grows fast. Also a golden or regular pothos and Zz plants are pretty easy and don’t require a lot of maintenance. I’ve attached pictures of my spider babies plants. I just harvested from the mother and repotted. Also pictured it one of my golden pothos and the ZZ plant. I can mail@you a baby spider plant and some pothos cuttings is you email me your address. My email is mmtruran@gmail.com
