Might be over watered or your soil is retaining too much moisture. Might be worth it to let it dry out for a bit or move it to a soil that drains more easily.
Perhaps Calvin has been overwatered. Check to see if there is rot at the base. It might need more direct light. This cactus is very drought tolerant. A smaller drainage pot might be helpful to let the soil dry. 💚
Might be the soil or lack of drainage, then. I've gotten plants that I didn't repot when I got them that have soil that retains moisture in a wiiiild way.
