My girl has grown oh so tall despite not having been repo...

#MoneyTree
General rule of thumb when repotting is going 1-2 inches than the rootball.
For me it would depend on how tight the roots are. If they’re super packed, might even go 2-4 inches larger.

There is a very high chance that the yellowing and dropping of leaves is from not being repotted
How long has it been in that pot?
@SillyPlantGirl for five years πŸ˜…
Cooooool! I didn't know that it could grow that high!
I had an issue with mine yellowing and dropping leaves so badly that it almost died. I moved it from a western facing window with indirect sunlight to a southern facing window with a couple of hours of direct sunlight and now it’s growing out of control! I didn’t repot, fertilize, or change the water amount or schedule. I just moved it. The difference is amazing!!
@user9a16e705 wow 5 years?! That’s amazing. If it were me- I would try to give it some new soil. You don’t have to take it out of the pot as it’s so big, you could scoop around as much soil that’s in there and just replace. If you notice lots of roots, you may have to repot.
Ooh that’s a good call! The funny thing is that I’ve had it in direct light (south facing window) since I got it (and it was maybe a half a foot/to a foot then) and it just bursted up so tall! I got a notification from Greg that it’s too close so I’ve moved it away and I’ll see if maybe the reverse helps! Haha
