Zz plant with weak stems, droopy leaves

Hey everyone. This zz plant also has some leaves/stems that are not waxy like the others. They are the weak stems.

Im wondering if Greg app is prescribing enough water. Says 1/8 of a cup for this guy. Help please πŸ™ƒ
do you let it dry out before you water it again?
This could be new growth. Plants grow between waterings. ZZ s are treated like succulents so they need bright light or they’ll grow soft over time as root rot may develop due to the plant not taking up the water or nutrients. I’d definitely clean up all the fallen foliage at the base and give it a moment outside in bright indirect light. The light should help the leaves turn greener. If not, it could be underwatered.
Mornin, David! I think an 1/8th is a good amount -- how often are you watering? My ZZs are pretty established now and I put one in my sink about once a month (first picture) and bottom-water it and the big one (second picture) gets watered about once a month with whatever water is sitting on the counters or table.

Those plants don't need much water and they don't want that much light.

My little Raven gets watered about once every three weeks.
@fenny yea I mean it’s in Colorado so it’s really dry any way. So 1/8 cup doesn’t seem to really give the plant much water
@sarahsalith I’ve never done a soak or bottom water before.. think that’s a good idea. Thank you for the advice !
