Is this stem rot?
@SanguineRedrose yes, itβs stem rot. Trim it off and keep your soil light and evenly moist to prevent this.
@FitSedum what can I do to save it οΏΌ
@FitSedum what does keep it evenly moist mean
@SanguineRedrose itβll be ok. You can lose a piece and the rest can survive. Youβve cut it and this tends to happen after a stem is clipped. Normally, you cut it as close as possible to the primary stem.
How to keep it evenly moist? Hereβs a guide:

I donβt think so.. When I saw this on my plant, I thought the same. I have never owned a Coleus before, this is my first one. I bought it in June and itβs still going strong. My Coleus plant has the same thing going on. Coleus plants are known to develop woody stems as they get older. Your plant looks healthy! I have my Coleus inside my house for the winter. Another Coleus tip for you: Itβs ok to snip the seed stalks off of the plant. If you leave these on, the plant will become leggy, the plant will go to seed and die. I normally cut mine off with scissors. Hope this helps! Good Luck!
