Help! My Mcolley’s Finale isn’t happy.

The leaves at the top have been unfurling literally for months. And are those nodes or roots sticking out of the stem? What should I do?

The thing sticking out of the stem are roots. Also I would move it closer towards the window and hopefully this helps.
