Overwatering?
My #Peperomia keeps getting really awful root rot and while stems will just fall out. I've reported with fresh soil and I haven't watered yet to make sure the roots dry out. I've been watering based on the schedule from Greg, but is there something different I should do? #RootRot

Can you post a current picture? The card picture shows the plant likely when you first got it. You should check the soil with a moisture meter to ensure it has really dried out between waterings. Greg is only an estimation. So many factors Greg cannot include. Exact environment in the home, ceiling fans, proximity to air conditioning, humidity levels in the house, water type (you are using distilled water or rain water?), how close/far away the grow light is. Also, the plant card says your pot has no drainage. If that is true, it's a huge part of your problem. This Pepperomia shouldn't care much about the pot type (plastic versus glazed clay versus terra Cotta) as long as it's planted in a quality succulent soil with good drainage, and there's a drainage hole in the pot. You could add some perlite to the current soil mixture to help with drainage if it is retaining too much moisture. Here is a pic of mine. Watch the lower leaves making sure they aren't turning mushy.... that's a sure sign of wet roots.
You shouldnβt just follow Gregβs watering schedule especially if you added the plant recently (itβs supposed to be a learning algorithm based on when you water after a few weeks of time), you should really check if your plant needs water each watering, then snooze it if necessary. Iβve never cared for a pep with this type of leaf, but most of my peperomias I water by the feel of the leaves when they soften up a bit, and some of them also demonstrate a droop when they need water. Iβve also moved mine to chunkier mixes that drain very well, have moved them into plastic pots with side ventilation, and Iβve stopped having that darn root rot issue on this. Iβd suggest trying to figure out the feel of the leaves after itβs drank water and when it is thirsty, and then youβll be able to nurse it back to health. Clear plastic pots are also really nice to monitor roots on them because they are so fragile.
@UltraKoreanfir I'll definitely be checking the leaves and looking into getting a moisture meter! I repotted in a draining pot and used a well draining soil mixture, I just haven't updated the card yet π
thanks for the advice!
@Moxiesplants You're most welcome, Maddy!
