Was she in a terracotta pot at first. I ask this because they don't like to stay wet and terracotta will pull the water away from the roots and that what you want.
Your pot may not be big enough English Lavender actually needs a good amount of space. A good starting place is around 12 inches. They need space for their root systems and do better that way. Make sure the pot is terracotta and the roots spread outward. They aren't deep so the pot doesn't need to be deep.
