Calling Ginny Galaxy pros ✨
Anyone have a begonia Ginny galaxy? I just got a beautiful one that I would like to acclimate to ambient. I’m reading online some people are successful and others are not. Please give me all the tips and knowledge, hivemind. Currently ~60% humidity ambient, and receiving 5000 lux. I can move it closer to the grow light once we stabilize; just didn’t wanna blast it as soon as it got here. #begoniababes #BegoniaBunch

@MamaLinne yessss!! Alocasia who? 😂 I got a Firework too, just because I already had paid for shipping on the Ginny, and was not expecting the ‘wow factor.’ 🤩
@Preciousplants1 such a pretty one Sherri!! I love how frosty it looks. I’ve learned they need more light than I expected, for sure. My Hallows Eve is finally getting its purple and orange coloring after I put it on the alocasia table.
@RefinedSandwort thanks so much Joy!! I’ve been diving into my light meter this summer and trying to really optimize each plant for the location. I realized that ‘spot’ on the shelf was really reserved for the SOH - about 11k lux and anything else I tried to put there from my collection would inevitably end up burning. Can’t believe I’m keeping a succulent alive after all these years, but I guess these are strange times. 🤪 Now let’s see if I can keep this Ginny too! lol Right now, she’s got the ol’ Ziplock bag.
@Jho yes they do! I have this one in the northwest facing window and I use my grow light when it’s cloudy 🌥️. I don’t water it often so all. Which one is the Hallows Eve. I’m just learning begonias. lol I’m just learning a lot of different varieties of plants and they’re so fascinating 👏🏽

@Preciousplants1 here’s Hallows Eve. You can see the green where I realized something was up. lol. And then the new ones coming up are the purple and orange like it should be.
