Yes, you can put it in a pot. It prefers full sun but can handle partial shade. Needs well drained, sandy soil. Allow soil to dry out before watering. You will need to divide every 2-3 years. It’s highly invasive so I would recommend keeping it in a pot if you’re going to have it
